Ignition coil
The ignition coil transforms low voltage from the battery into high voltage for the spark plugs. It creates a magnetic field when energized, inducing a voltage spike upon interruption. This spike, reaching tens of thousands of volts, generates the spark needed to ignite the air-fuel mixture. The resulting combustion powers the engine. Essentially, the ignition coil is pivotal in starting and sustaining the car’s internal combustion process.
